Dear Franklin Families,
In addition to the 7 student cases at the elementary school, I have been notified of 1 student case at the middle school and 3 student cases at the high school over vacation and today. The middle school and high school will continue masking up when 3ft. distancing cannot be maintained indoors.
Please remember to screen your students for symptoms each morning and keep them home if they are sick.

Good Afternoon Franklin Families,
I have been notified of 7 positive cases at Paul Smith School, over the weekend and today. Due to this we are masking up all students and staff when 3 foot distancing cannot be maintained. This means that when students are seated at their desks, they may remove their masks.
Impacted classrooms will mask up when 6 foot distancing cannot be maintained.
The following classrooms will implement 6 foot masking:
Ms. Greene, Miss Nixon, Ms. MacDonald, Ms. Preuss and Mrs. Fleury.
We anticipate masking to continue for at least 14 days.

I am reaching out to notify you that a student at the middle school and a staff member at the elementary school tested positive over the break for Covid-19.
The student was in school during the infectious period so we will need to continue masking at the middle school tomorrow when 3ft. distancing cannot be maintained.
The elementary school will continue with the approach of targeting classrooms at this time.

Good Afternoon Franklin Families,
I am pleased to report that we have 0 reported cases today in the School District. The middle school is down to 2 active cases so we will be moving from 6ft. distancing to 3 ft. distancing tomorrow. Should there be no other cases at the middle school over the Thanksgiving break, the middle school will move to mask optional when we return next Monday.

I have been notified of 2 student positive cases at the high school and 1 positive case at the elementary school since Tuesday afternoon. Close contact notifications have been made in 1 high school case and the elementary case. The 2nd high school case did not require any close contact notifications as the student was not in school during the infectious period.
The elementary classroom with the positive case will be masked up for the next 14 days.

Good Afternoon Franklin Families:
We have two new positive covid cases to report. There is 1 student at PSS. That student's last day in school was 11/15 and notifications are being made. Second case is a student at FHS. The last day that student was in school was 11/12 and symptoms began 11/13. Notifications are being made.
Also a reminder that there is no school for students tomorrow on November 17. This is an inservice day for staff.

BAE Systems FOCUS Program is now accepting applications from high school students with an interest in STEM.
The FOCUS program gives high school students hands-on experience in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through classwork and team projects led by BAE Systems employees – allowing them explore STEM careers in depth before choosing any one path. The program demonstrates the basic principles and applications of software, mechanical, and electrical engineering through a small scale robotics competition. Guided by experienced engineers, FOCUS projects simulate a real-world atmosphere, where students work through various elements of a project lifecycle - including development, production, testing, finance, and project management.
Schedule and eligibility:
• Eighteen students per session
• Three, 11-week sessions offered per year (Fall, Winter, and Spring)
• Sessions held Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. in Nashua, NH
There are two ways for interested students to apply:

BAE Systems Women in Technology Program is now accepting applications from female high school Juniors and Seniors with an interest in STEM.
Women in Technology (WiT) is a collaborative effort between local area high schools and BAE Systems’ Electronic Systems sector. WiT gives female identifying high school students with an aptitude in math and science a practical, hands-on opportunity to explore careers in various technical disciplines. It also provides mentorship to the students to encourage and support them in their pursuit of a technical career. After completing the program, seniors who have been accepted to college with a declared major in engineering are encouraged to apply for a summer internship opportunity at BAE Systems.
The program takes place at BAE Systems locations in Southern NH, beginning on January 4 through May 3, 2022. Students will participate on Tuesday afternoons from 2:30-4:30 PM EST.
