Good Morning Franklin Families, I am pleased to share with you that our active Covid cases in the schools have dropped dramatically as currently we have 1 active case at the elementary school, 3 at the middle school and 2 at the high school. Therefore, I am notifying our families today that we are moving back to mask optional status on the following dates at the schools: elementary school 2/14/22, middle school 2/21/22, high school 2/14/22. Please remember that masks must still be worn on buses by federal mandate. We will continue to keep student desks 3 feet apart in the classrooms and continue our sanitizing mitigation strategies. We will take targeted approaches in the schools when we have cases like we were doing before we went to universal masking in the schools (classroom masking/wing masking if and when necessary). Good Morning – There will be a 2 hour delay today for the Franklin School District. This means school arrival and start times will be 2 hours later than usual, and the bus arrival times will be two hours later than usual. Be Safe!

Good Afternoon Franklin Families, I am reaching out to give you an update on the situation with the heat at the middle school. We have the heating system up and running everywhere in the building except for the gymnasium. We have significant water in the gym from a burst coil and will need a couple of days to repair the heat in the gym. We will be back in school tomorrow but will be unable to use the gymnasium until these repairs are completed. We are working as quickly as possible to make this happen. Additionally, I have been notified of 6 Covid cases over the weekend and today. 3 high school students, 2 middle school students and 1 elementary student tested positive. Dear Franklin Families, I have been notified that 3 elementary students and 3 middle school students tested positive for Covid-19. Close contact notifications are being made. I also wanted to notify you that starting tomorrow we will no longer be conducting temperature checks on students entering the buildings. This mitigation strategy will be removed from our reopening plan moving forward. I ask that you continue to monitor your children for symptoms each morning and keep them home if they are sick. I also wanted to clarify that when students test positive for Covid, they do not need to retest on day 5 in order to return to school, they just need to have been fever free for at least 24 hours and have symptoms subsiding.
